    TESS Online 2020: Humanizing Learning

    October 20th - 22nd, 2020
    Inspired Action & Impact

    About the event

Inclusion is the backbone of innovation and is critical to building spaces that reflect the full range of human diversity. As technology continues to advance education, deepening human interactions in online learning environments is critical for success in higher education. Recognizing diversity, inclusion, and equity, TESS Online 2020 will examine the conference theme from the student perspective. Presenters will take into account access to learning, nurturing online communities that create spaces for all, and opportunities to create a more connected experience in both synchronous and asynchronous environments. TRACKS: 1) Emerging Technologies What’s on the horizon for EdTech? This track explores not only emerging tools and platforms but how they might shape the future of online learning and be used to deepen human connection. 2) Learned Leadership Every classroom experience is an opportunity for educators to learn more about themselves and their students. This track features a mentoring element where educators connect to share their experiences and discuss what has helped them grow and evolve over the course of their careers. 3) Research & Data-Driven Decision Making How might we use strategy and data to improve the student experience? This track applies a strategic lens to teaching and learning, examining the role of research, data, and digital engagement. 4) Empathy & Engagement In online settings, deepening human connection becomes even more important. This track examines how to incorporate empathy and engagement into online teaching, taking into consideration the needs of all students. eCampusOntario is proud of its initiatives and is dedicated to providing a positive experience for all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff (“participants”). We expect all participants to show respect and courtesy toward one another at all events, including online activities. To that end, all participants are required to agree with the following code of conduct: https://www.ecampusontario.ca/code-of-conduct/ If at any time you need assistance during the event please reach out to us at tess-svat@ecampusontario.ca
